Community Bank’s Annual Program Surpasses $150,000
Awarded to Local Students for Good Grades
September 8, 2023
2023 marked the thirteenth year of Community Bank’s annual Earn While You Learn program. The program paid out over $15,000 to 390 student-customers in the Eastern Oregon and Southeast Washington area. This brings the total paid out since the program began in 2011, to $161,274.
The program is designed to encourage students in their academic success by awarding Community Bank Youth Savings account customers for their good grades. Community Bank President, Tom Moran said, “It’s great to see so many kids participating in the program.” He added, “Next stop - $200,000!”
During the months of June, July and August, all Community Bank branches accepted end-of-the-year report cards from students in 1st through 12th grade. For every top grade (indicated on the grading system used for each school) in a main school subject that appeared on the report card, Community Bank deposited $2, up to $50 into their Community Bank Youth Savings Account.
